What Makes The Pie Shops Tick?

I get asked a lot about the origins of my flickr/website name - Well, pull up a chair, sit under my learning tree and hear tell of the epic adventure of how I tried to figure out what makes the pie shops tick.

It was a long, long time ago in a land far, far away, there lived a handsome prince.....

Ok, there is no epic adventure. In fact, the real story is really boring. When I first started my flickr account, I had a hell of a time coming up with a name. I had four or five different names in the first week of existence. I ended up settling on Fun House due to the fact that I really liked this postcard:



I was never very happy with the name, it seemed a little to easy to forget. I was trying to come up with a new moniker that stood out and that no one would else would have and I stumbled upon an article in one of the many, many magazines I own. The magazine was the August 1970 issue of Baking Industry. Buried in the middle of the magazine was an article about the ins and outs of pie shops. it's not the most interesting article in the world, but the title stuck with me and here we are.
