Ask For Amazing Wate-On

Wate-On was a powder/pill from the late 1960s that "helped put pounds and inches on skinny figures when underweight is diagnosed as due too poor eating habits." The formula appeared to be the same as a weight-gain powder bodybuilders use today.

The idea was neat, in theory, but came along at the time of Twiggy and didn't last. These are three advertisements from 1968 (including one with Raquel Welch). Ask for Amazing Wate-On. In drug stores everywhere.

"I Can't Afford To Be Skinny" says Glamorous Actress Raquel Welch
