In 1964, Lyndon Baines Johnson was running for President of the United States. He had been President for less than a year by the time this book came out (after the assassination of John Kennedy), and had enough skeletons out of the closet that Norman Miller and the (presumed) Republicans created this coloring book so you could see and color them all. It's full of dated references and drunk driving and told from the prospective of Her, one of the Johnson's dogs. See all 22 pages and the key after the jump.

The LBJ Coloring Book
In honor of today being Election Day in the United States, I thought I would share a very strange piece of political ephemera from 1964. This is the LBJ Coloring Book. The coloring book was published in 1964 by Gem Publishing and was written by Norman Miller and Illustrated by Cal Massey.

Pac-Man Fever
This morning I woke up with this strange song in my head:
It's not that strange of a song, I guess. The strange part is that I had not heard the song in years. I don't know why it was in my head at all. Instead of trying to decipher a deeper meaning, I determined that it meant that today was Pac-Man day on What Makes The Pie Shops Tick?. I can be here for 66 weeks posting all of the awesome things that came from the Pac-Man franchise, instead, I will post a few things I really enjoy.
First we have stickers (thanks to tOkKa):

A Lunchbox:

a book (thanks to Waffle Whiffer):
and a cartoon:
Later today I will be sharing with you a version of what started it all.
