May All Your Days Be Circus Days, or: How I Started Worrying and Learned to Fear The Clown
I have no idea why I am doing this. I am sure it's going to lead to nightmares for most of you. I am not generally afraid of clowns but some of these make me question if the devil does exist. I was going to type the details of every photo but decided that it broke up the horror. Instead, all images link back to their flickr source.

San Francisco, California by Charles Cushman
These are some images from the city of San Francisco, California. These photos were taken by Charles Cushman on his various trips to San Francisco. The photos range from 1940 to 1967.
Some information on Charles Cushman from the UI website:
Charles W. Cushman, who graduated from Indiana University in 1917, bequeathed to the university some of his photographic equipment, his notebooks, and his entire collection of photographs, shot between 1917 and 1969. Upon Mr. Cushman's death in 1972, most of his photographs were sent to the University Archives and placed in storage. Mr. Cushman's widow, Elizabeth, donated to the University in 1989 additional photographic equipment and some photographs shot in the late 1960s. The Indiana University Foundation gave them to the School of Journalism, where they remained until fall 1999, when they were reunited with the rest of the collection at the University Archives.

Adolph B. Rice Studio Collection
A description from the Library of Virginia Archives:
The Adolph B. Rice Studio Collection constitutes a unique photographic record of life in Richmond, Virginia from 1949 to 1961. The collection consists of more than 16,000 4 x 5 inch film negatives from the commercial studio of Adolph B. Rice.
Adolph B. Rice Sr. (1909-1960) opened his first photo studio in Richmond in 1949. The studio remained on North Auburn Avenue until it ceased operation in 1961. Rice was an active member of the Virginia Professional Photographer Association and the Virginia Press Photographers Association. With a reputation for quality commercial work, his clients included businesses, industry, and state and local government. Photo assignments ranged from studio portraits, to aerial views to advertising shots for local department stores. After his death in 1960, the studio was owned and operated by his son Adolph B. Rice, Jr. (1937-1974). The collection was later donated to the Library of Virginia.

The Life and Times of Marjorie Casper: The Hollywood Paladium
Here we have a souvenir photo of Marjorie and some unidentified friends at the Hollywood Paladium in Hollywood, California. My guess is that this photo was taken sometime in 1943. Marjorie is the woman on the far left.

The Life and Times of Marjorie Casper: Friends and Family
I am posting these pictures a little out of order, but due to the Valentines rush, I had to post those first and these second. These are loose pictures from the scrapbook of Marjorie Casper. There are some notes in the book as to who these people were, but I really don't know too much more about them. I added a description under each image and, if possible, a little note about the people pictured. I will be referring to Marjorie as Midge throughout this post because that was her nickname and there are multiple Marg-ish names.
There are more pictures in the scrapbook but I have yet to scan them and/or figure out where they belonged in the book. When I figure them out I will post them. In the meantime, here are 14 pictures starting with Midge's family.
